All orders placed through this website will be shipped via Yamato Transport, with a few exceptions. Previously, we shipped exclusively through Japan Post, but due to difficulties with their service, we no longer use them.
There are no shipping difficulties via Japan Post to the Netherlands, so we will continue to ship to the Netherlands via Japan Post.
Specific countries, such as Mexico, Canada, India, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia, only allow packages to be shipped to businesses. If you cannot provide us with a business name and address to use, we will ship using Japan Post.
Phone numbers are required for all orders through Yamato Transport. We are unable to ship packages without a phone number, so be sure to provide us with this when placing your order.
Yamato Transport bases its shipping rates primarily on the size of the package. Fees are $26 (1-3 items), $47 (1-5 items), $87 (6-15 items), etc. You will save money by buying multiple products. Kimonos, furisodes, and large tomesodes usually fit perfectly in the $26 box, but sometimes require the $47 box. Many kimonos are small enough to fit 2 in a box, and many jubans and haori can fit 3 in a box.
For the United States, we have started domestic shipping. We are placing products in the store that are available on consignment while in transit to Minnesota. When they arrive in Minnesota, they will be shipped via the United States Postal Service’s Priority Mail service.
Products that are already in the US only ship to the US and its territories. The indicated price includes shipping, so there are no additional shipping costs.
