Seigaiha qinghai wave Waves
This pattern represents ocean waves, the name of which literally translates to “blue ocean waves.”
White and gold “seigaiha” wave pattern with other wave pattern styles scattered around.
The pattern is made up of repeating semicircles that resemble the uniform appearance of waves when looking out over the vast ocean. As such, this pattern brings good fortune to the wearer, with endless waves representing happiness and a peaceful life.
Traditionally, this pattern was used to represent water on maps. While this is generally used for ocean waves, some kimonos use this pattern within rivers.
The name specifically notes “blue,” but this pattern is now made with all the colors of the rainbow.

Seigaiha patterns made of gold, white, yellow, orange, beige, and red, surrounded by chrysanthemums.
